International Nurses Day 2012

International Nurses Day 2012 is observed all around the world on every May 12 to celebrate the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. International Nurses Day provides a chance to celebrate nursing profession and their contribution to make improvements in the lives of people and their families. They play an important role to perk up the health and wellbeing of entire communities and the whole nation. This year International Nurses Day 2012 falls on a Sunday so celebrations during both the week before and after will celebrate the anniversary. By celebrating the international nurses’ day, people get involved to enhance the image of nursing and nurses locally and nationally.

This day is also celebrated to signify the diversity of nursing roles and their contribution to health and wellbeing of the people and communities. Another purpose of its celebration” is people get involved in promoting nursing profession as an attractive, rewarding and modern opportunity.The International Council of Nurses memorialize this significant day each year by producing and distributing the International Nurses’ Day Kit. The IND Kit 2012 enclosed educational and public information materials, for use by nurses everywhere.
