World Earth Day’s 42nd anniversary is around the corner and the whole world is bustling with the eco-friendly ideas to show their concern for the mother earth. Before the Earth day was established it was common to dump the industrial and toxic wastes to the rivers and streams which used to result in intoxication of water and thus endangering life of plants and animals. Then on 22nd April, 1970 U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson showed his protest against this environmental devastation by humans and under his leadership 20 million Americans held demonstrations which resulted in the establishment of US Environmental Protection Agency in Dec. 1970.
Today this day is celebrated all around the world with a lot of agencies participating actively to educate people about the importance of environment to the survival of life on earth.
